Iraq was forced to cancel a friendly match against World Cup competitor Tunisia in Germany because the team could not get plane tickets on time, reports said Friday.
Germany's foreign ministry said the cancellation had nothing to do with visa problems.
All applications from national football squads are processed with a minimum of bureaucracy, a ministry spokesman said Friday.
The Iraqi team made inquiries about visas and were given application forms to fill out, but did not return them, the spokesman said.
Iraq is not among the 32 teams that qualified for the World Cup, which kicks off in Munich June 9.
